Vietnam-Cambodia business networking conference strengthens strategic cooperation
VOV.VN - The Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam, in coordination with Cambodia’s Ministry of Commerce, co-organized the Vietnam-Cambodia Business Networking Conference, bringing together more than 200 delegates from management agencies, industry associations, and the business communities of both countries in Phnom Penh on August 28.

The event is designed to step up trade promotion, expand market access, and unlock cooperation potential between two neighboring economies with a long-standing partnership that is growing more strategic.
Cambodian Secretary of State at the Ministry of Commerce Seang Thay noted that Vietnamese enterprises offer many products well suited to Cambodian demand and welcomed the close coordination between the two ministries in facilitating direct business contacts. He added that Cambodia will host a large-scale International Import–Export Fair in Phnom Penh in December, with Vietnam’s Ministry of Industry and Trade as a key partner.
In his remarks, Deputy Director General of the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency at the Ministry of Industry Bui Quang Hung said the two sides will continue to cooperate in priority areas, including organizing trade fairs and exhibitions of Vietnamese goods in Cambodia; developing an online business database; promoting market surveys and enterprise matchmaking; and training Vietnamese firms on standards, import regulations, and Cambodia’s business culture. He called on the Cambodian side to facilitate Vietnam’s trade promotion activities, provide timely information on import policies, and help strengthen business linkages.
According to Vietnam’s Trade Counselor in Cambodia, Do Viet Phuong, the two economies are highly complementary, with several export–import items showing strong values and growth prospects, thus forming a basis for raising bilateral trade to US$20 billion.
Notably, hundreds of direct business-to-business meetings took place within the conference, opening opportunities in agriculture, processed foods, consumer goods, building materials, electrical equipment, machinery, and logistics. Numerous ideas, business agreements, and project proposals were initiated, laying the groundwork for practical, long-term cooperation and pushing up a more substantive and sustainable Vietnam–Cambodia economic partnership.
