Vietnam Airlines receives 10th Dreamliner
The national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines received another Boeing 787 Dreamliner on November 25, which is the 10th aircraft of this kind in the airline’s fleet.
The airplane, which landed at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi on November 25 afternoon, will be put into use the next day on the Hanoi-Ho Chi Minh City route.
Vietnam Airlines received its first Dreamliner in July 2015. Following the arrival of the 10th one, nine others will be delivered from now to 2019.
Besides the domestic route between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, the Boeing 787s are being used for international flights from Hanoi and HCM City to London (the UK), Frankfurt (Germany), Narita (Japan) and Beijing (China). The airline also plans to use the Dreamliner on its flights to Sydney and Melbourne (Australia) next year.
Vietnam Airlines’ Deputy Director General Phan Xuan Duc said the fleet of Boeing 787 is one of the main points in the airline’s plan to modernize and expand its fleet, helping bring four-star service to customers.
As of now, the fleet of Boeing 787s of Vietnam Airlines has flown 7,600 flights with more than 35,500 flying hours, transporting 1.79 million passengers.
