Vietnam Airlines makes VND2.3 trillion profit in nine months

The Vietnam Airlines Corporation earned a pre-tax profit of over US$101.64 million in the first nine months this year, surpassing its yearly target by 40 percent.

The figure was nearly 1.3 trillion VND (57.2 million USD) in the third quarter, up 57 percent from the same period last year.

In the Jan-Sep period, the corporation’s syndicated revenue reached 65 trillion VND (2.86 million USD), up 20 percent year on year. It contributed over 4.3 trillion VND (189.2 million USD) to the State budget, up 7 percent year on year.

Vietnam Airlines conducted nearly 108,000 flights during the period, 90.8 of which were reported on time, an increase of 6.7 points over the same period last year, making it the most punctual carrier in Vietnam.

Accordingly, the airline served over 16 million passengers during the first nine months, up 5 percent year on year.
