VietJet Air launches Ho Chi Minh City– Jakarta route
VOV.VN - Vietnamese budget airline VietJet Air officially launched a direct flight connecting Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam) and Jakarta (Indonesia) on August 5.
The launch was held at the Vietnam-Indonesia forum on policies and laws to promote economic, trade and investment cooperation and witnessed by Vuong Dinh Hue, chairman of the National Assembly of Vietnam, who was in Jakarta for an official visit.
The direct flight will connect the two leading megacities that are economic and trade hubs of the two countries and Southeast Asia, providing an ideal flight option for businesses, travelers and students.
According to VietJet Air, the airline is running 7 flights per week between Jakarta and Ho Chi Minh City, using modern aircraft. It takes the aircraft only three hours to bring passengers from Ho Chi Minh City to Jakarta and vice versa.
The direct air route will make it more convenient than ever to attract more businesses and investors to Ho Chi Minh City and Vietnam, as well as to open up opportunities to expand investment activities in Jakarta, a bustling metropolis with 10 million people. It is expected that VietJet Air will bring nearly half a million passengers between Ho Chi Minh City and Indonesia this year.
VietJet Air has launched a series of direct flights connecting leading Asia-Pacific cities in Australia (Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane), India (New Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Kochi, Tiruchirappalli), Republic of Korea (Seoul, Busan), and Japan (Tokyo, Osaka).
Its new direct air route between Ho Chi Minh City and Jakarta is anticipated to expand the flight network from Indonesia and Ho Chi Minh City to countries in the region and around the world.
