Vietcombank seeks FSC approval to open branch in Laos

VOV.VN - Vietcombank has submitted a request to the Financial Supervisory Commission to open a branch in Vientiane, the capital of Laos.

Vietcombank said it has sought approval from financial authorities in Laos to open the branch as soon as possible. The Vientiane branch would be the first foothold established in Laos by the bank.

Since the formation of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) free trade zone in 2015, foreign funds have been flooding into the country, said Nghiem Xuan Thanh CEO of Vietcombank.

The AEC has created plenty of business opportunities for us in Laos, he added, noting the Vientiane branch would provide a wide range of services to both Vietnamese and Lao businesses.
