VOV.VN - Danh Khoi Group and Tokyu Corporation of Japan signed a comprehensive co-operation agreement in Ho Chi Minh City on July 20 to develop the Meraki project, which has a total cost of over VND1,000 billion.

This is a high-class resort apartment project which belongs to the Aria Vung Tau resort complex in Chi Linh urban area of Vung Tau city in the southern province of Ba Ria - Vung Tau.

At present, Danh Khoi Group and Tokyu Group are studying and initiating ideas for developing the scheme.

Nguyen Huu Quang, deputy general director of Danh Khoi Group, said with the co-operation of the Japanese side, the Meraki project is expected to meet all necessary standards of a luxury resort apartment complex. It will create living spaces and become a hub capable of attracting investors in the future thanks to its profitability.

In response, Oh Dong-kun, general director of Becamex Tokyu Co., Ltd (BECAMEX TOKYU), emphasised that the partnership with Danh Khoi is set to be the driving force for Tokyu to expand new projects in the Vietnamese market, particularly as the local company boasts experience in the field of development of resort projects in coastal urban areas.

Watanabe Nobuhiro, Japanese Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City, revealed that 2023 marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Japan diplomatic ties, and the co-operation project is expected to bring about a range of mutual benefits for both sides and provide the basis for developing further co-operative relations in the future.

Tokyu is renowned for building large urban areas on the outskirts of Tokyo, while the Meraki project is located in Ba Ria - Vung Tau, which is home to many Japanese firms, according to the diplomat.
