Tien Giang exports green-skinned mangos to United States
VOV.VN - The Mekong Delta province of Tien Giang held a ceremony on March 19 to announce the export of the first batch of green-skinned mangos to the United States.

The shipment was executed under a contract signed between Thanh Binh Import Export Trading Company Limited and Vina T&T Import-Export Company.
Addressing the announcement ceremony, Pham Van Trong, vice chairman of the provincial administration, emphasised that the export of the fruit would open up a number of new opportunities, helping local enterprises to access the global market, and affirm the position of the province’s agricultural products.
Trong noted that Tien Giang currently boasts 2,000 hectares of mango orchards, with an annual output of nearly 50,000 tonnes to support the export of the fruit to China, the Republic of Korea, Japan, the US, New Zealand, and Europe.
After the ceremony, six other tonnes of green-skinned mangos were also exported to Australia.
Currently, Vietnam stands as the 13th largest mango producer in the world. The advantage of Vietnamese mangos is that they can be harvested all year round, with the main season being from March to July.
The country exported mangos for the first time to the US market in 2019, while Australia approved Vietnamese mango imports in 2017.
Besides An Giang, Can Tho city has also exported green-skinned mangos to Australia and the US.
