Thanh Ha lychees hit Australia shelves this year
VOV.VN - Lychees grown in Thanh Ha district of Hai Duong province have been officially put on sale at Australia’s Market Place supermarket.
Accordingly, Thanh Ha lychees are being sold at VND594,000 per kilo, much higher than the average lychee price of between VND70,000 and VND100,000 per kilo in the Vietnamese market.
This is the first batch of Thanh Ha lychees shipped to Australia by the Red Dragon Service Trading Manufacture Co., Ltd, by air.
Mai Xuan Thin, director of the company, said the firm had purchased lychees from a number of gardens in Thanh Ha district’s growing areas that have met VietGAP and GlobalGAP standards.
the firm plans to purchase between 10 tonnes and 15 tonnes of lychees each day for export moving forward.
Last year witnessed Vietnamese lychees transported to Australia by air being sold for between VND400,000 and VND500,000 per kilo.
Meanwhile, dozens of tonnes of lychees that were shipped by sea were traded at about VND260,000 per kilo in several states in Australia.
