Thailand’s SCCC acquires Holcim Vietnam

Holcim Vietnam was officially renamed as Siam City Cement Vietnam Co Ltd on March 1 after being acquired by Thailand’s Siam Cement City Public Co Ltd (SCCC).

A few months ago, LafargeHolcim Group signed a contract to transfer a 65% stake in Holcim Vietnam to SCCC.

SCCC has been expanding in the building materials industry in many Southeast Asian countries by bolstering production and trading of cement and other construction solutions bearing INSEE trademark.

SCCC has also expanded production and marketing in Cambodia, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Vietnam besides its key production base in Thailand.

From now on, Holcim products will be marketed with the new brand of INSEE.

SCCC was established in 1969 and has produced cement since 1972. Holcim Vietnam, an enterprise manufacturing building materials and supplying waste management solutions in southern Vietnam, was established in 1969. The company now operates five cement factories and modern concrete mixing plants in HCM City.
