Thailand 4.0 to offer opportunities for Thailand

The event taking place at the Royal Jubilee Hall, IMPACT Muang Thong Thani, Nonthaburi, on February 15 will showcase Thailand’s potential and readiness to become the "Gateway of ASEAN” and a global investment hub.
At the seminar, Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha will give a keynote speech on the topic "Thailand 4.0 Means Opportunity Thailand.” Deputy Prime Minister Somkid Jatusripitak will speak on the topic "Growth amidst Global Uncertainties.” Speakers on the topic "New Incentives, New Business Environment and Thailand 4.0” include Industry Minister Uttama Savanayana and BOI Secretary-General Hirunya Suchinai. Minister to the Prime Minister’s Office Suvit Maesincee will speak on the topic ""Investment-led Transformation.”
On this occasion, BOI will take about 70 members of the foreign media from various countries to visit the Eastern Economic Corridor Development Project. The Government is making efforts to develop the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) into a new growth hub of ASEAN, with efficient infrastructure and an attractive business environment.
Under the Thailand 4.0 initiative, Thailand aspires to drive its growth through innovation, technology, research and development, and creative thinking. Greater emphasis will be placed on the service sector and the development of the logistics system, linking with local and international transport networks.
The Thai government is taking serious steps to move the country toward Thailand 4.0, which is a new economic model, aimed at pulling the country out of the middle-income trap and developing it as a high-income country.
The BOI Secretary-General said that 2017 is regarded as a golden year for Thailand’s investment. It is the year when the Government is starting to promote investment projects that will move the country toward Thailand 4.0. It is also the year when new environments will be created, favorable to the investment situation.
BOI will step up efforts to raise public awareness of the directions of Thailand’s economic development toward Thailand 4.0, which will offer more opportunities for the country.
