Thaco, Sun Group pledge resources for HCM City projects marking Reunification anniversary
VOV.VN - Chairman of the Board of Thaco Tran Ba Duong and Chairman of the Board of Sun Group Dang Minh Truong said they will mobilise all available resources and experience to implement the projects entrusted to them, ensuring progress and quality, and contributing to beautifying Ho Chi Minh City.
Ho Chi Minh City on April 29 simultaneously broke ground on four key projects with total investment capital of VND142 trillion, marking the 51st anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975-April 30, 2026).
The projects include the central city square (Component 4 of the Central Square and Ho Chi Minh City Administrative Centre project, with investment ofVND733 billion); Metro Line 2 from Ben Thanh to Thu Thiem VND(46.295 trillio ); renovation and upgrading of the Ho Chi Minh Museum area at Nha Rong-Khanh Hoi Port (VND20 trillion); and the International University Urban Area (VND59 trillion).
The main ceremony site was located at the intersection of Nguyen Co Thach and Mai Chi Tho streets in An Khanh Ward, within the land area for the Central Square and Administrative Centre project.
City pledges support for investors
Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Nguyen Van Duoc said that at a working session with the city’s Party organisation and administration two days earlier, Party General Secretary and State President To Lam stressed that the city must take the lead in turning strategic resolutions into reality, under the principle of matching words with actions, carrying through to completion, and acting for the people.
He said this is not only an imperative for action, but also reflects trust, confidence and expectations placed on the city. The simultaneous launch of four major projects and the awarding of investment decisions constitute a commitment in action by Ho Chi Minh City, affirming its resolve and aspiration to build a civilised, modern and compassionate city in a new period of development.
He called on corporations, investors and partners to maximise their capacity, experience and credibility; carry out projects with a high sense of responsibility, while ensuring progress, quality, technical standards and aesthetics, with each project becoming a model and a symbol of the city.
Departments, sectors and local authorities were urged to be more proactive and decisive in coordination, and to work substantively alongside investors, avoiding any evasion, buck-passing or delays that could affect overall progress.
Ho Chi Minh City committed to accompanying investors throughout project implementation, resolving difficulties and obstacles, pushing ahead with administrative reform, and improving public administration performance, ensuring that no barriers slow development momentum.
Commitments from Thaco and Sun Group
Chairman of the Board of Thaco Tran Ba Duong said the company will strictly comply with legal regulations, apply advanced technology and maintain strict and systematic management to ensure safe and efficient operation; while carrying out technology transfer and promoting localisation.
During implementation, Thaco will coordinate with the city to develop technical norms, laying a foundation for the development of the urban railway system in the future with optimised investment and operating costs.
The company will also support, encourage and facilitate the participation of domestic enterprises in the railway construction and industrial value chain, from design and construction to equipment manufacturing.
With nearly 45 years of experience in mechanical engineering, Duong said he will work with full dedication and expertise to contribute a model, efficient railway system to the city.
Chairman of the Board of Sun Group Dang Minh Truong said special mechanisms provide conditions for Ho Chi Minh City to proactively drive breakthrough development, while expanding the role of the private sector in strategic infrastructure areas.
He said the projects launched cover a wide range of sectors, including transport, urban development, administration, culture, heritage, education and logistics linked to the marine economy, reflecting a development mindset of a comprehensive and synchronised ecosystem of works, in line with the city’s role as the country’s economic engine.
He said Sun Group is involved in building the Central Square and Administrative Centre complex, as well as implementing projects in the Nha Rong-Khanh Hoi Port area and expanding the Ho Chi Minh Museum site. The group pledges to mobilize resources and experience to ensure project progress and quality, thus contributing to making the city more beautiful.
