Seven-month forestry exports up by 55%
VOV.VN - The export of Vietnamese forestry products during the seven months of the year soared by 55% to US$10.25 billion, according to data from the Vietnam Administration of Forestry (VNFOREST) under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
In relation to the figure, over US$9.5 billion has come from timber and wooden products, marking an annual rise of 55%. In addition, US$686 million has come from other timber products, representing an increase of 58.3% on-year.
Furthermore, the export value of forest products in July alone stood at an estimated US$1.472 billion.
The country’s major export markets for local timber and forestry items included the United States, Japan, China, the EU, and the Republic of Korea, which has made up over 90% of the nation’s total export value.
