The expos include the Vietnam International Machinery & Supporting Industry Fair 2020 (VIMAF&VSIF), the Vietnam International Premium Products Fair, the Vietnam International Retailtech and Franchise Show (VIPREMIUM), and Vietbaby Fair 2020.
On display will be a wide range of cutting-edge industrial products and components, in addition to equipment and machinery used in the supporting industry by both local and foreign enterprises.
Nguyen Phuong Dong, deputy director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade, said the purpose of running the expos is to enhance linkages between the Vietnamese firms operating in the supporting industry and foreign-invested enterprises in the southern city, thereby creating opportunities for businesses to expand into new markets.
Dong noted that a series of trade exchanges will be organised during the course of the expos in an effort to help businesses seek greater investment opportunities, receive updates on current market trends, and learn more about the shift of global supply chains.
Addressing the opening ceremony, Bui Thi Thanh An, deputy director of the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency (Vietrade), emphasised that the southern metropolis has been active in deploying the Government's strategy on the development of the supporting industry. Indeed, the events have also contributed to intensifying connectivity among firms whilst accelerating the development of other key industries, she said.
