SEMIEXPO Vietnam 2025 to open in November, boosting semiconductor ambitions

The National Innovation Centre (NIC), in collaboration with the global industry association SEMI, will host SEMIEXPO Vietnam 2025 in early November at VinPalace Co Loa in Dong Anh commune, Hanoi.

This marks the second edition of the event, which is expected to become a focal point for innovation, investment connection and the future of Vietnam’s semiconductor industry.

According to the organisers, SEMIEXPO Vietnam 2025 will showcase aspirations to advance in semiconductors, while underpinning the country’s growing role in the global supply chain. The event will feature exhibitions, a NextGen hub for startups and universities, ministerial dialogues, and forums on equipment supply and high-tech manufacturing ecosystems.

Vo Xuan Hoai, Deputy Director of NIC, said the return of SEMIEXPO reflects Vietnam’s strong commitment to building a world-class semiconductor ecosystem.

With bold policies, international cooperation, new investment in R&D and workforce development, Vietnam is laying the foundation for long-term growth, he noted.

Vietnam’s semiconductor revenue is projected to grow 11.6% annually through 2027, with the country moving from assembly and testing to integrated circuit (IC) design and advanced packaging. A newly approved semiconductor plant, alongside international partnerships, further strengthens its position as a promising hub in Asia.

With nearly 170 high-tech FDI projects, strategic partnerships with players such as Taiwan (China), and new initiatives including a US$69 million advanced packaging lab in Da Nang city, Vietnam is laying the groundwork for a competitive and innovative ecosystem.

The opening ceremony will be attended by high-ranking Vietnamese government leaders, with more than 5,000 delegates from across the globe expected.

SEMI Southeast Asia President Linda Tan said the event reaffirms Vietnam’s determination to develop a resilient, innovation-driven economy and expand its integration into the global semiconductor value chain.
