Major tech firms in semiconductor industry attend SEMIExpo Vietnam
VOV.VN - Dozens of world leading companies attended the Vietnam Semiconductor Industry Exhibition 2024 (SEMIExpo Vietnam 2024) at the National Innovation Center (NIC) of Hoa Lac Hi–tech park on November 7 to seek ways to develop the local semiconductor industry.
The exhibition, the first of its kind in Vietnam, attracted the participation of more than 5,000 delegates and 100 booths from major technology partners in the semiconductor field such as Cadence, Qualcomm, Intel, Qorvo, Dassault Systemes, Siemens, Tektronix, FPT, and Viettel.
In his opening ceremony, Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung emphasised that SEMIExpo Vietnam 2024 marked an important step forward for the country in its efforts to engage deeper in the global value chain of the industry, a field which is widely considered to be the foundation for the digital economy.
The two-day expo is expected to introduce the country’s potential and advantages to global semiconductor enterprises, help to improve the local business environment and open up bright prospects ahead for the future development of the semiconductor industry, he noted.
A dialogue with domestic and foreign enterprises chaired by the Minister of Planning and Investment will be held during the expo with the aim of sharing best practices from experts, and business representatives, as well as both international and Vietnamese policymakers, in the field.
Furthermore, a series of seminars and forums will be held to strengthen connectivity among businesses whilst seeking more global co-operation in developing human resources for the semiconductor industry.
