VOV.VN - The Vietnam Fisheries International Exhibition (Vietfish) 2023, which is also called the country’s largest fisheries expo, opened on August 23 at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Centre in Ho Chi Minh City.
The expo organised by the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP) brought together 420 booths run by more than 200 leading seafood processing and exporting companies in the nation and 14 other countries and territories worldwide.
On display are a range of aquaculture and services, machinery, chemicals, additives, and cold storage equipment.
Upon addressing the opening ceremony, Nguyen Thi Thu Sac, chairwoman of the VASEP, said that the event provides not only a chance to connect seafood processing and exporting enterprises, but also a place for them to meet, introduce new technology, and seek co-operation opportunities.
The three-day event covers a series of seminars that seek to bring multi-dimensional perspectives and useful information to help improve the overall competitiveness of Vietnamese seafood products as part of the international market
Furthermore, Vietnamese consumers will have the opportunity to learn and enjoy Vietnamese seafood products that meet the highest standards of food safety and are exported to many countries around the world.
Vietfish was first held back in 1998 and aims to popularise the trademark of Vietnamese seafood in the global market, while introducing domestic customers to high-quality locally-made products.
The annual event was disrupted in 2020 and 2021 due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic before it resumed in 2022. This year marks the 24th edition of the expo.
