RoK, Vietnam businesses share public procurement market experience

VOV.VN- The Public Procurement Agency under the Ministry of Planning and Investment and Korean partners co-hosted on March 8 in Hanoi a seminar launching the project to enhance bidding capacity, particularly for small-and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) involvement in the public procurement market.

Nguyen Dang Truong, head of the ministry’s Bidding Management Department said the Vietnamese Government’s incentive policies have encouraged greater market participation, especially the pubic procurement market from SMEs which make up the vast majority of the business community. However, their limited knowledge about the legal system remain a major obstacle for their deeper involvement in this market, Truong noted.

The project aims to help SMEs share experience in bidding activities from their Korean partners under which Vietnam businesses will be able to broaden knowledge and improve capacity in this field thus promoting their more participation in the government’s public procurement.
