VOV.VN - PetroVietnam Gas Joint Stock Corporation (PV GAS) has been named among the top 50 listed companies for this year by Forbes Vietnam, marking the firm’s 10th consecutive appearance on the list.

According to the statistics compiled by the publication, the total profit after tax of the 50 companies hit VND193.18 trillion, equal to US$8.32 billion, up 10.7% against compared to those listed last year. In addition, their revenue amounted to over VND1.19 quadrillion.

Furthermore, PV GAS ranked among the top five businesses due to boasting the most impressive revenue and profit. In line with this, its turnover, profit, and capitalization stood at VND78.992 trillion, VND8.672 trillion, and VND 210.534 trillion, respectively.

Last year saw PV GAS post a 23% increase in net revenue from sales and service provision compared to 2020. In contrast, this year the firm has started the process of importing liquefied natural gas (LNG) for energy conversion to compensate for the declining domestic gas supply and to promote the development of the LNG market in the nation.

The majority of the top 10 companies to feature in the list are industry leaders or have established competitive advantages in their fields of operation. Along with PV GAS, the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam) also witnessed two other subsidiaries honoured by Forbes, namely the PetroVietnam Ca Mau Fertilizer JSC and Petrovietnam Fertilizer and Chemicals Corporation.

The list was first established back in 2013, with PV Gas being among nine firms honoured in all 10 editions of the publication. The others include Bao Viet, DHG Pharma, FPT, Hoa Phat, Masan Group, Refrigeration Electrical Engineering Corporation, Vinamilk, and Vietcombank.
