Prime Minister attends Spring Fair 2026 closing ceremony
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended the closing ceremony of the first Glorious Spring Fair 2026 at the Vietnam Exhibition Centre (VEC) in Hanoi’s Dong Anh commune on February 13.
The event featured exhibition spaces covering approximately 100,000 square metres indoors and more than 45,000 square metres outdoors, designed as a spring journey throughout Vietnam. After 12 vibrant and colourful days, the fair vividly portrayed the vitality of the nation’s economic and consumer activities at the beginning of the new year, leaving a strong impression on the public and business community. It spread the spirit of innovation, creativity, integration, and enthusiasm in production and business, conveying messages of aspiration, confidence, and hope for a prosperous and thriving new year in a new era.
Under the theme “Connecting Prosperity – Welcoming a Glorious Spring,” the fair welcomed more than 500,000 visitors from across the country and numerous international delegations for sightseeing, shopping, and signing of trade and investment contracts.
With over 3,000 booths and tens of thousands of high-quality Vietnamese products from all regions, it created a culturally rich artistic space, capturing the joyful and bustling spirit of the Lunar New Year while opening a cross-country spring journey featuring diverse experiential, cultural, and culinary activities that harmoniously blended tradition and modernity.
Addressing the closing ceremony, PM Chinh commended the responsible, creative, and dedicated efforts of ministries, sectors, localities, the business community, especially Vingroup, and the enthusiastic support of the public and international friends who contributed to the fair’s success, describing it as a “symphony ushering in spring” and “a seed of prosperity” sown with hope and confidence at the dawn of the new year and new era.
He affirmed that the fair’s success was reflected not only in positive economic, trade, and investment results but also in its widespread cultural and social impact. It demonstrated the nation’s internal strength, confidence, unity, and aspiration for rising up, self-reliance and self-strengthening.
He emphasised that the fair proved to be an effective channel for stimulating domestic consumption - one of the country’s key growth drivers - and a dynamic bridge between domestic and international trade. It reflected the strong transformation and global outreach of Vietnamese goods and brands, receiving positive feedback and creating new export opportunities.
The event also reaffirmed the enduring vitality of the campaign “Vietnamese people prioritise using Vietnamese goods,” highlighting the trust, pride, and strong support of domestic and international consumers for high-quality national products with modern designs and strong intellectual value, he said.
According to the PM, the fair has established its own distinctive brand, serving as a convergence of high-quality regional specialties, a bridge between traditional culture and modern economic thinking, and a strategic platform connecting enterprises with consumers and domestic partners with international counterparts to build a sustainable, green and modern trading ecosystem.
He underscored Vietnam’s confidence in organising trade fairs of regional and international scale, noting that the presence of international enterprises demonstrated Vietnam’s attractiveness as a safe and promising investment destination.
To maximise the fair’s outcomes, the Prime Minister tasked the Ministry of Industry and Trade with comprehensively reviewing and evaluating the event, drawing lessons, and developing strategies to encourage consumers to not only prioritise but also trust and take pride in Vietnamese goods.
He called on businesses to lead in science and technology, innovation, digital transformation, and green transition; uphold business culture and ethics, firmly combat counterfeit and substandard goods, and conquer global markets with high-quality products reflecting Vietnamese intellect and identity.
The leader also reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to fostering a favourable, transparent, and equitable business environment for international partners and encouraged consumers to express patriotism and national pride through responsible consumption.
On the occasion, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh, and Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son presented 64 certificates of merit to organisations and enterprises that made significant contributions to the success of the first Glorious Spring Fair 2026.
