Petrol prices fall to below VND20,000 per litre in latest adjustment

VOV.VN - The Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Industry and Trade have announced a downward adjustment in petrol prices, effective from 3 p.m. July 17, bringing rates below VND20,000 per litre.

Specifically, RON95-III is now capped at VND19,920 per litre, down VND170 from the previous week. E5 RON 92 also dropped by VND170 to a maximum price of VND19,480 per litre.

Oil prices were also on the downward trajectory. Diesel decreased by VND40 to VND18,790 per litre. Mazut 180CST 3.5S saw a notable drop of VND90 per kilogramme, now priced at no more than VND15,470 per kilogram. In contrast, kerosene rose VND50 to VND18,420 per litre.

This marks a reversal following last week's increase, pushing petrol prices to their lowest level in four years, comparable to rates in June 2021.

Since the beginning of 2025, RON95-III has undergone 30 price adjustments, with 16 increases and 14 decreases. Diesel has seen 15 hikes, 14 cuts, and one unchanged round.

Enterprises are now gearing up facilities, equipment, and logistics for production, transportation, and distribution of E10 biofuel nationwide, expected from January 1, 2026.
