Petrol prices down, oil prices up in latest adjustment
VOV.VN - The retail prices of petrol were revised down, while those of oil products increased as of 3 p.m. on May 22 in the latest price adjustment by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Finance.
Accordingly, E5 RON 92 dropped by VND60 to a maximum of VND19,120 per litre, while RON95-III fell by VND60 to VND19,530 per litre.
Oil prices saw upward adjustments, with diesel up by VND180 to VND17,400 per litre, and kerosene up by VND90 to VND17,310 per litre. Mazut 180CST 3.5S also soared by VND350 to VND16,510 per kilogramme.
Since the beginning of this year, petrol prices have been adjusted 21 times, including ten increases and eleven reductions for RON95-III, and eleven hikes and ten cuts for E5 RON 92.
Oil prices have also seen 12 increases and 9 decreases during the same period.
According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, since Vietnam shifted to adjusting petrol prices every seven days, domestic petrol prices have closely tracked global market fluctuations, with minimal price differences between adjustments.
The Ministry said it would continue to implement measures to ensure stable domestic fuel supply. It has also instructed local Departments of Industry and Trade to monitor businesses to ensure regular, uninterrupted sales at posted prices.
