Over 900 businesses attend Vietfood & Beverage - Propack Vietnam 2024
VOV.VN - The 28th version of the International VietFood, Beverage and Professional Packing Machines Expo (VietFood & Beverage – ProPack Vietnam 2024) officially opened on August 8 in Ho Chi Minh City, drawing the participation of more than 900 enterprises from over 20 countries from around the world.
Upon addressing the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Phan Thi Thang emphasized that Vietnam has exported food and foodstuff products to 180 markets worldwide, noting that several groups of commodities have recorded impressive export growth during the initial seven months of the year with turnover exceeding US$2 billion, including seafood, fruit and vegetables, cashew nuts, coffee, and rice.
The revenue recorded by the Vietnamese food and beverage industry market will continue to grow moving forward, with expectations that the figure will reach more than VND28,636 billion this year before climbing to US$1,422 million in 2029.
With the trend of consumers favouring green and sustainable products, Vietnamese enterprises are required to transform as they move towards sustainability across the entire production value chain, said Deputy Minister Thang.
She noted that the event offered an ideal opportunity for businesses to co-operate alongside international manufacturers and distributors, whilst also gaining greater insights into the investment climate in industrial parks in the nation, thereby contributing to further expanding the global value chain linkage.
A number of trade connectivity schemes and seminars will be held during the function to discuss solutions aimed at reducing carbon in the food industry and the trend of green packaging.
