Outstanding enterprises honoured for contributions to customs sector

VOV.VN - As  many as 200 outstanding enterprises were honoured for their great contributions to the customs sector’s budget in 2017 at a conference hosted by the Customs Department of Ho Chi Minh City on January 31.

The businesses -the Imex Pan-Pacific Group (IPP Group), Truong Hai Automobile JSC, Phu Nhuan Jewelry JSC and Unilever Vietnam International Company Limited- contributed 45% or US$2.13 billion to the customs sector’s budget collection.

In his speech, Deputy head of the department Dinh Ngoc Thang extolled the businesses’ cooperation with the customs sector as well as their effective recommendations aiming to help the sector gradually improve its policies and mechanisms.

The department will continue facilitating the implementation of customs procedures at border gates and help enterprise keep updated on new legal documents and regulations.

Greater efforts will be paid to combating goods smuggling and trade fraud, and creating a favourable business and healthily competitive environment for businesses, he said.

IPP Group President Johnathan Hanh Nguyen said that the city's customs sector have offered the best possible conditions for import-export enterprises via a host of modern management programmes.

The sector needs to take more measures to prevent fake and smuggled products in order to protect good businesses as the better way to make greater contributions to the city’s budget, he added.
