Number of new businesses up in January - April period
VOV.VN - As many as 49,900 businesses were formed in the first four months the year nationwide, representing a rise of 0.6% against the same period from 2022, according to the General Statistics Office (GSO).
The average registered capital of each firm saw a decrease of 27.2% year on year at VND9.3 billion.
The number of workers in newly-established enterprises in the reviewed period stood at 331,400, a decline of 4.8% year on year.
Meanwhile, 17,174 operating enterprises registered an increase of above VND604.6 trillion. Therefore, the total registered capital of the economy during the first four months was at an estimated at VND1,069.6 trillion, down 46% year on year.
GSO reported that nearly 79,000 enterprises resumed operation, down 2% compared to the same period last year.
On the opposite side, 49,900 enterprises temporarily ceased operations, up 21.8%. In addition, a further 20,900 were in the dissolution process, up 39.9%, with 6,100 completing dissolution procedures, up 10.1%.
On average, 19,200 businesses withdraw from the market every month.
