New Vietnam-China border crossing opens
The Kim Thanh international border gate No. 2 linking Vietnam’s northern mountainous province of Lao Cai and China’s Yunnan province was officially open to traffic on November 8.
As part of the Lao Cai – Hekou international border gate, the crossing at Kim Thanh serves as an important trade hub in the Kunming – Lao Cai – Hanoi – Haiphong economic corridor.
At the inauguration ceremony, Nguyen Van Vinh, Chairman of the Lao Cai provincial People’s Committee, pledged to facilitate trade exchange between the two countries’ businesses and people for the benefit of local and regional socio-economic development in the process of global integration.
