New name of TPP captures media attention

VOV.VN -A host of questions were raised by media workers about the renaming of Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) to Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) at a press conference on November 11 in the central city of Da Nang.

APEC Interational Media Centre Director Le Thi Thu Hang introduced two ministers, who co-chaired the press briefing.

Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Tuan Anh and Japanese Minister of Economic Revitalisation Toshimitsu Motegi announced that TPP is replaced with CPTPP
The two ministers said that the CPTPP is a comprehensive and high-standard agreement on the basis of balancing interests of its member countries, with regard to their development levels.

According to Minister Tuan Anh, the replacement was remarked in a joint statement issued on November 11 morning following the TPP Ministerial Meeting transpired within the framework of the APEC  Economic Leaders’ Week in the central city of Da Nang on November 9-10
