Muong Thanh group opens first five-star hotel abroad

Vietnamese Muong Thanh Group on July 29 inaugurated the five-star Muong Thanh Luxury Vientiane Hotel in Laos’s capital of Vientiane, which is its first hotel abroad, marking a new progress in the firm’s ambition to become the largest hotel chain developer in Indochina.
Attending the inaugural ceremony was Sinlavong Khoutphaythoun, Politburo member and Governor of Vientiane capital, Khemmany Pholsena, Party Central Committee member and Minister of Industry and Trade of Laos, and Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos Nguyen Manh Hung, among others.
Speaking at the event, Sinlavong Khoutphaythoun highly valued Muong Thanh’s decision to choose Vientiane to locate its first hotel outside Vietnam, as well as the fast construction progress of the tallest building in Vientiane, which was finished within 17 months.
The 37-storey Muong Thanh Luxury Vientiane Hotel, with 331 rooms to the international five-star standards, can accommodate 700 customers. Together with restaurants and bars to host 400-guest events, the hotel also has a conventional mall with a capacity of hosting nearly 1,000 people, along with entertainment and fitness services.
The project is a clear evidence of the special friendship between the two countries, Sinlavong Khoutphaythoun said, adding that the hotel can serve as a venue for the organisation of the upcoming 29 th ASEAN Summit and the fourth conference of ASEAN cities’ leaders in Vientiane .
He also expressed hope that Muong Thanh Group will expand its investments to other sectors in Laos, contributing to the socio-economic growth in Laos and Vientiane in particular.
After 20 years of operation, Muong Thanh Group is currently operating 50 hotels in Vietnam with a total of 8,700 employees.
