Mango producer struggles to meet Australian standards
VOV.VN - Vietnamese producers have been aiming to put mangos on the shelves of supermarkets in Australia for years, but have failed to do so due to the stringent sanitary and phytosanitary regulations that they must comply with.
In the past attempts by the company have failed due to a lack of investment in the physical plant and technology that could treat the fruit with heated water to bring bacteria counts within acceptable limits.
They have also lacked in cold storage technology resulting in low quality product.
Bao claims his company is the first in Dong Nai to have received VietGap and GlobalGap certification yet the only foreign country it has had any marked exports to is China, which has no sanitary and phytosanitary regulations to speak of.
