Local brands shine at Vietnamese Goods Week in Thailand

VOV.VN - Vietnamese Goods Week in Thailand opened at the Central World mega-shopping complex in Bangkok on September 18, with the aim of promoting several of the nation’s high-quality products and traditional cuisine to new Thai customers.

This year’s Vietnamese Goods Week is running with the theme of “Taste of Vietnam”, with a view to promoting Vietnamese goods throughout Thailand. In attendance during the opening ceremony are Jurin Laksanawisit, Thailand’s Minister of Commerce, Do Thang Hai, Vietnam’s Minister of Industry and Trade, and Nguyen Hai Bang, Vietnamese Ambassador to Thailand.
Minister Laksanawisit (R) samples pho, Vietnamese noodle soup, and talks with Minister Hai.
This year’s Vietnamese Goods Week is the fourth edition of the event and is expected to welcome approximately 500,000 arrivals. During the course of the five days, 45 Vietnamese businesses with high export potential will introduce their products, including tea, coffee, snacks, fresh fruits, and spices.
The event provides a perfect opportunity for domestic businesses to advertise both coffee and tea to potential international customers.
The booth promoting Vietnamese coffee proves popular among Thai visitors at the show. First held in 2016, the event serves as an initiative which is jointly implemented by Vietnam’s Ministry of Industry and Trade, along with Thailand’s Central Group, with the purpose of promoting Vietnamese goods in Thailand.
