Lin Krabi durian sells very well, raises high income

Lin Krabi durian which is currently selling for 400 baht per fruit is raising some 100,000 baht in monthly income to the durian planters with some customers purchasing the fruit directly via social media. 

Daneeya Farm owned by a 50-year-old Daneeya Piwdam is known for producing the award-winning Lin Krabi durian, which has been popular among customers for its tastes and is selling for 400 baht each. 

The popularity of this durian variety has brought some customers to the plantation to purchase the durian directly, while some also used social media channels to purchase the fruit, which will then be shipped by post to customers. 

The plantation currently has some 90 durian trees, and is planning to increase the number to 300 in order to cope with high customers demands. The sale of durians in May 2018 has brought some 100,000 baht revenue while harvest season of Lin Krabi durian usually lasts between May to July. 

The plantation also produces Kan Yaw, Mon Thong, and Chanee durian, and has some 100 of these durian tress, providing more variety to customers. 

The plantation owner said all durian fruit shipped to customers can be returned if it is found unripe after it has reached the hands of the customer, adding that she has received positive feedbacks from customers for the products and after-sales services.
