LEGO begins recruiting workers to operate Binh Duong factory
VOV.VN - Danish toy production company LEGO has opened a labour recruitment office as part of efforts to operate its first ever carbon neutral factory with investment capital of US$1.3 billion in early 2024, according to details provided by the Binh Duong Employment Services Centre.
The labour recruitment office is expected to hire thousands of workers who will serve the first phase of the LEGO factory at the Vietnam - Singapore Industrial Park III in Binh Duong province.
Preben Elnef, vice president of LEGO Group and general manager of Lego Manufacturing Vietnam Company, said the factory is being constructed according to the schedule and is expected to be put into operation by next year.
He added that the group has devised various plans to carry out construction work even during the rainy season to ensure progress for the entire project.
He expressed his gratitude for the support and companionship offered by relevant stakeholders and agencies during construction.
The factory is set to start production ahead in the second half of next year to bring diverse products to children.
Nguyen Van Danh, vice chairman of the Binh Duong Provincial People's Committee, said that the locality has paid close attention to LEGO Group’s factory, which is expected to create thousands of jobs after it is eventually put into operation. This will contribute to budget revenue, and promote industrial development in the province in a green, clean, and sustainable manner.
He noted that the provincial administration has always created the optimal conditions possible for businesses by simplifying administrative procedures to facilitate the wider implementation of the project, which in turn will accelerate long-term and efficient production activities in the locality.
