Lang Son, Chongzuo speed up transport connectivity, facilitate trade exchanges
VOV.VN - The northern border province of Lang Son (Vietnam) and the southern city of Chongzuo in China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region will step up the construction of highways in border areas connecting border gates to facilitate cross-border economic-trade cooperation and customs clearance.
The agreement was reached during talks on April 3 between Ho Tien Thieu, head of the Lang Son provincial administration, and Lan Xiao, secretary of the Chongzuo Party Committee.
The two officials agreed to build border infrastructure facilities, expand import - export routes of goods, develop logistics services, inland ports, digital/smart border gates, and upgrade and/or reopen pairs of border gates and open crossings, in order to boost trade exchanges.
They stressed the need to inaugurate the Tan Thanh – Pochai trade and tourism area, develop unique, high-quality tourism products, and promptly remove difficulties and obstacles to cross-border labour management.
They said the two sides will urgently consider resuming customs clearance activities in a number of pairs of secondary border gates between the two sides. They will submit to competent authorities of both sides for approval the investment policy for a rail route linking Dong Dang international railway station (Vietnam) and Pingxiang station (China) in an effort to facilitate the import and export of agricultural products via railway.
The two officials extended invitations to leaders of the two sides to attend important events to be held in the two localities in 2023.
