Korean firms keen on Vietnamese medical equipment market
VOV.VN - The Republic of Korea's Convention and Exhibition Centre (COEX) has unveiled plans to host the Mekong Medical & Healthcare Expo 2023 in Binh Duong this June.
The expo, the first of its kind this year, is expected to draw the participation of 150 domestic and foreign companies who will showcase their products and technologies at 250 booths.
The event is anticipated to play a key role in supporting Korean businesses to penetrate the medical market in Vietnam, as well as in other countries throughout the region, according to organisers.
The Vietnamese medical equipment market has grown continuously at an average annual rate of 13.1% over the past five years, of which more than 90% depends on imports, said Lee Dong-gi, CEO of COEX.
He pointed out that Vietnamese healthcare expenditure made up 6.5% of GDP, the highest in Southeast Asia, and the country is a potential market for the RoK’s medical device companies moving forward.
In order to help Korean companies reap practical results at the exhibition, Lee said organisers will introduce a variety of solutions, including providing participating businesses with opportunities to expand their global network, as well as exploring new markets in the ASEAN region.
