Kien Giang promotes trade, tourism, and investment with India

The event attracted the participation of more than 100 Indian businesses and entrepreneurs in the fields of commerce, agriculture, investment, tourism, education, and information technology.

Nguyen Thanh Nhan, vice chairman of the Kien Giang Provincial People's Committee, emphasized that the locality has always strived to create the optimal conditions for investors by improving infrastructure and providing human resources and essential services in order to help them operate effectively within the locality.

He noted that the function offers an ideal venue in which firms of both sides can ramp up linkages in economics, investment, trade, and tourism moving forward.

For his part, Madan Mohan Sethi, Indian Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City, stated that this is the first time that more than 100 entrepreneurs from 11 Indian states have arrived in Rach Gia city of Kien Giang province. 

With the participation of a large number Indian businesses operating in fields such as construction, engineering, agriculture, food processing, textiles, chemicals, information technology, and tourism, the occasion will contribute to further developing relations among businesses and entrepreneurs of both sides.

He expressed his wish that both sides will seek to boost co-operation in organising trade and cultural exchanges, thereby increasing the flow of investment, tourism, and exchanges moving forward.

During the conference, Kien Giang businesses and Indian partners signed a memorandum of understanding outlining future co-operation in areas such as leather shoes, aquatic products, education, and information technology.
