Int’l East-West Economic Corridor trade fair underway in Da Nang
VOV.VN - The International East-West Economic Corridor Trade, Tourism and Investment Fair - Da Nang 2023 (EWEC Fair - Da Nang 2023) officially opened on August 3, featuring a total of 300 pavilions by 150 local and foreign businesses.
The fair is a national programme focusing on trade promotion this year that has been approved by the Ministry of Industry and Trade. It aims to introduce socio-economic, investment, trade, and tourism potential of various localities to businesses along the East-West Economic Corridor.
On display are electronics, technological equipment; houseware; furniture; interior decoration; handicrafts; gifts; consumer products such as food, beverages, garments and textiles, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, and cosmetics; as well as tourism, logistics, education, and health care services.
Addressing the six-day event, Tran Chi Cuong, vice chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee, underscored the importance of the trade fair in further promoting the friendly cooperation, understanding, and mutual trust among countries along the East-West Economic Corridor.
The fair also serves as an ideal venue in which foreign businesses and international organisations that have established diplomatic relations with Da Nang can work to step up investment cooperation with firms operating in the central city.
Sharing this perspective, Vu Ba Phu, director of the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency (Vietrade), emphasised that the event will serve as an effective and important trade promotion channel in order to help businesses approach consumers, boost trade exchanges, and seek business cooperation opportunities moving forward.
A number of seminars on trade connectivity and export promotion, as well as cooperation opportunities with Canada within the framework of the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP), will be held during the fair.
