Int’l certification – the game-changer for electronics firms in global market
VOV.VN - Obtaining international certifications from multinational corporations is considered the game-changer for Vietnamese electronics companies as it helps them enhance their reputation, expand export markets, and facilitate deeper integration into the global supply chain, according to industry insiders.
In fact, electronics has rapidly emerged as a billion-dollar export industry over recent years, demonstrating a strong recovery and resilience.
The Ministry of Finance reveals, the local electronics industry raked in US$47.06 billion from exports in the first four months of the year, of which exports of computer, electronics, and components brought in US$29.259 billion, and phone and components US$17.799 billion.
Despite the this strong performance, the industry remains heavily dependent on foreign-invested enterprises. Meanwhile, domestic enterprises, especially small and medium-sized enterprises, still face significant challenges in investing in technology, improving quality management systems, and meeting stringent international standards.
To address these issues and become more competitive globally, Vietnamese firms must gradually adopt advanced technologies, strengthen production capabilities, and elevate quality management practices to meet international benchmarks.
In this context, achieving international certifications is a positive signal, demonstrating Vietnamese enterprises’ competitiveness and capability to deeply integrate into the global market, said Do Thi Thuy Huong, an executive board member of the Vietnam Electronic Industries Association (VEIA).
These certifications have provided a solid foundation for major corporations to build greater trust in the capabilities of domestic businesses, said Huong.
In her view, such achievements meet the strategic goals of the Politburo’s recently adopted Resolution No. 68, which underscores the central role of the private sector in driving Vietnam’s economic growth. Certifications also improve the global standing of Vietnamese enterprises, opening doors to new contracts and attracting more positive attention from foreign companies looking for reliable suppliers in Vietnam.
Tran Duc Tung, deputy general director of HANEL PT, recently received the 2025 Quality Award Certificate from Brother Group, one of the world's leading names in technology and electronic equipment. The certification helps enhance the company’s reputation as a high-tech partner, boosts its chances of securing future orders, and facilitates stronger integration into international markets.
For foreign partners, the certification acts as a trusted guarantee of quality, giving them greater confidence to collaborate with Vietnamese firms. It also reinforces Vietnam’s position as a capable and competitive player in the high-tech electronics manufacturing landscape.
Beyond individual efforts, industry associations like VEIA play a pivotal role in supporting Vietnamese electronics firms. Huong noted that VEIA has been instrumental in connecting domestic companies with major global manufacturers, assisting in order acquisition, and keeping members updated on evolving standards and regulations.
In addition, VEIA serves as a key liaison between businesses and government bodies in promoting trade, seeking partners, and sharing strategic insights. These efforts provide a strong foundation for Vietnamese firms to grow sustainably and integrate more deeply into global value chains, stressed Huong.
