Inspectors reclaim US$71m in Q2
The Government Inspectorate reclaimed VND1.5 trillion (US$71.3 million) and 226ha of land for the State as it carried out nearly 1,600 administrative inspections and 30,700 non-administrative inspections during the second quarter of 2015, the Government's official portal reported on June 30.
Inspectors also collected fines of VND4.3 billion ($197,000) for administrative violations, proposed administrative punishments for 186 collectives and 26 individuals, and transferred 10 cases and 11 people involved to other agencies.
The inspectorate announced the conclusion of three administrative investigations involving VND2.25 trillion (US$103 million) and 18ha of land. It also urged the Government to reclaim VND276 billion (US$12.6 million), and requested police investigations for two cases and four individuals.
In addition, more than a thousand administrative inspections were carried out by local inspection agencies across the country. Of these, 869 cases were concluded, reclaiming VND287 billion (US$13 million).
More than 106,400 collectives and individuals were inspected in non-administrative cases. Of these, 43,721 broke the law. The cases involved a total of VND5.84 trillion (US$268 million). The agency proposed the Government reclaim VND992 billion (US$45.5 million).
In addition, during the second quarter of 2015, State agencies handled 70,000 complaints and denunciations, 38,577 cases and 893 citizen delegates. The majority were land disputes and related issues.
During the same period, 13 corruption cases were discovered, involving 38 individuals. Disciplinary actions were taken on seven persons in charge of collectives that were responsible for various violations
