India initiates anti-dumping investigation into hot-rolled coil from Vietnam

VOV.VN - The Trade Remedies Authority of Vietnam (TRAV) has announced that the Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR) of India has initiated an anti-dumping investigation into hot-rolled coil (HRC) imported from Vietnam.

Accordingly, the DGTR will investigate imports of hot-rolled flat products of alloy or non-alloy steel, not clad, not plated or coated, from the Vietnamese market with a thickness of up to 25 mm and a width of up to 2100 mm, classified under custom tariff headings 7208, 7211, 7225, and 7226.

The investigation is being conducted following a request made by the JSW Steel Limited and ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India Limited.

They alleged that imports from Vietnam have been causing material injury to the domestic industry as there were no significant differences between the imported product and locally produced product.

The anti-dumping investigation period is from January 1, 2023, to March 31, 2024.

The TRAV recommended that the Vietnam Steel Association (VSA) and local enterprises carefully study the attached documents, fully cooperate with the DGTR to provide information and documents in accordance with the prescribed format and deadline, and regularly coordinate with the TRAV to receive timely support.
