Inaugural China-ASEAN Expo gets underway in Hanoi
VOV.VN - Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Do Thang Hai on June 16 delivered the keynote address at the International Exhibition Centre in Hanoi opening the 16th China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO).
This three-day trade show, said Deputy Minister Hai, has been developed by the Chinese People’s Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in collaboration with the Vietnam Ministry of Industry and Trade.
It is co-sponsored by the 10 ASEAN member states as well as the ASEAN Secretariat and is an event of special international influence, playing an important role in promoting China-ASEAN friendly cooperation.
The Deputy Minister said the event aims to practically strengthen cooperation in industrial capacity, equipment manufacturing, economy, trade and investment among China, ASEAN and other countries along the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road.
Prioritizing infrastructure construction and equipment supply, this exhibition is enriched with innovation in science & technology, metallurgy and building materials and financial services.
In the address, Deputy Minister Hai welcomed the hundreds of exhibitors and thousands of visitors saying this is Hanoi’s largest tradeshow of the year to date and was only made possible with strong support from the government and private sector.
He said the success of opening day with the large number of participants from China and the ASEAN member states with the thousands of international buyers coming to visit, demonstrates the high commitment of trading partners around the globe.
The event, he said, includes a wide array of seminars, forums, displays, and speakers that will focus on how the ASEAN region is embracing new ideas, employing the latest technologies, and working together to better serve the region's changing economic and cultural needs in this era of rapid globalization.
