Improving private sector’s competitiveness

VOV.VN -  A workshop themed “Vietnam 2035 aspirations: role of businesses and need for institutional modernization” was hosted on June 15 by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and the World Bank in central city of Danang.

The main talking-point was on the continuous reform process to modernize the economy and improve the competitiveness of the private economic sector that is Vietnam’s only path toward prosperity, creativity, equality, and democracy.

Participants discussed the government report “Vietnam 2035: Towards Prosperity, Innovation, Equity, and Democracy” which sets out objectives to build a modern and industrial country with a higher quality of life by 2035.

To realize these aspirations, the report lays out a reform agenda in six areas: modernizing the economy with a competitive private sector, promoting innovation capabilities centered on the contribution of the private sector, environmental sustainable development and improving capacity to response to climate change, ensuring equality and social integration for unfortunate groups in par with the development of the middle class, and building a modern state governed by laws with a fully recognized, integrated market economy and a highly democratic society.
