Hoa Binh province rolls out red carpet to invite Thai investors

VOV.VN - Nguyen Phi Long, secretary of the Hoa Binh provincial Party Committee, affirmed his province’s readiness in order to welcome and support Thai investors for common development on July 17 at the Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Conference.

The evet aims to introduce the locality’s potential and strengths which are keen to attract investment, trade, and Thai tourists to Hoa Binh province.

As part of his opening speech, Vietnamese Ambassador to Thailand Phan Chi Thanh outlined that with many favorable conditions in terms of geography, climate, soil, and cultural traditions, Hoa Binh province is gradually becoming an ideal destination for both foreign investors and tourists.

The event is designed to not only promote and attract further investment in Hoa Binh province, but also to contribute to stepping up investment and trade links between Hoa Binh province and Bangkok, as well as economic, trade, and investment ties between Vietnam and Thailand, Ambassador Thanh emphasized.

Long said that Hoa Binh province highly appreciates Thai businesses and investors for their financial potential, experience in operation and compliance with the law, as well as high-quality manufactured products.

He emphasised that the conference aims to step up propaganda regarding the potential, strengths, investment environment, and investment attraction mechanisms and policies of Hoa Binh province, as well as the investment attraction of Hoa Binh province as local unique tourist destinations and products.

According to Long, the locality is constantly seeking to fine-tune its institutions and developing infrastructure facilities, viewing this as one of the strategic breakthroughs aimed at improving the business investment environment and attracting foreign investors and tourists.

He went on to express his hope that after this event, businesses, investors, and people of Thailand will pay attention to and gain more information about Hoa Binh, meaning they will soon become important investors for the locality.

At the conference, Nguyen Van Toan, vice chairman of the Hoa Binh provincial People's Committee, also introduced foreign direct investment (FDI) projects being implemented in the province, as well as touching upon a number of mechanisms and policies to encourage local investment.

Toan said some development orientations moving forward will focus on attracting FDI projects in the following fields processing, manufacturing, high-tech agriculture; ecotourism and services, infrastructure, and eco-friendly high-tech industries.

Within the framework of the conference, Thai and Vietnamese business representatives shared outlined orientations and investment needs, as well as spending time to introduce tourism products and services as a contribution to promoting trade, economic co-operation, tourism and culture between Hoa Binh province and Bangkok, as well as between the two countries.

In response, Sanan Angubolkulevent, president of the Thai Chamber of Commerce, highlighted the significance of the event through which both sides are able to seek co-operation opportunities in investment, trade, tourism, agriculture, and other fields in Hoa Binh province in the future.

According to Sanan, this year marks an important milestone with the 10th anniversary of the strategic partnership between both sides, opening a new era in strategic linkages between the two countries for peace, stability, and common prosperity.

He believes that the two countries will booster closer collaboration as a means of strengthening the relationship between the two countries according to the model of Vietnam-Thailand Economic Connection at all levels, including the public sector, the private sector, and the people.

Sanan also added that the Young Entrepreneurs Group of the Thai Chamber of Commerce and the Vietnam Young Entrepreneurs Association will continue to ramp up co-operation and deepen mutual understanding.

In August this year, the Thai Chamber of Commerce is set to organise a special forum for start-ups in Thailand in August as a way of enhancing the connection of both nations’ young entrepreneurs.
