Ho Chi Minh City to host Vietnam Cotton Day 2022
VOV.VN - The Vietnam Cotton Day 2022 is scheduled to get underway on October 4 in Ho Chi Minh City to introduce a range of fashionable products using cotton materials from the US and to seek solutions relating to sustainable development and traceability for local apparel firms.
This information was released at a press conference held on September 30 to unveil Vietnam Cotton Day 2022 by the Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association (VITAS) and the American Cotton Association (COTTON USA)
The event is anticipated to attract the participation of leading experts from the American Cotton Association, businesses operating in the US textile and garment industry, as well as an array of practical information about the US and global cotton market.
Furthermore, it will also offer a platform to introduce fashionable products which use American cotton materials from many domestic fashion brands such as John Henry, Routine, and Modern Humans.
Vo Manh Hung, representative of the American Cotton Association in Vietnam, said the event is expected to provide an ideal venue for businesses to come together to strengthen connectivity. In addition, it will also help firms to devise useful sustainable solutions in order to meet the market's requirements moving forward whilst developing brands for Vietnamese fashion garments in the international market.
Vu Duc Giang, chairman of the Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association, emphasised that the occasion will allow Vietnamese businesses to seize upon opportunities to apply fresh technologies, especially technologies relating to traceability.
In addition, this will require local businesses to promptly deploy transformation in order to build consumers' trust in the quality of "Made in Vietnam" textile products and help them to conquer the global market.
A number of seminars will also be held during the event aimed at discussing sustainable development solutions and traceability issues.
