HCM City to host int’l expo displaying port and logistics infrastructure

VOV.VN - Logistics Vietnam (VLA), in collaboration with Vietnam E-commerce Association (VECOM), will co-host the first ever Vietnam International Port Infrastructure and Logistics Exhibition & Conference 2019 (VIPILEC 2019) slated for June 12-14 in HCM City.

The event is expected to draw the participation of 100 service providers from 15 nations and territories from around the globe. VIPILEC 2019 will provide a good venue for businesses to seek investment opportunities and showcase their cutting-edge technologies in the field of port infrastructure, transport, and other relevant industries.

It will also serve as a technological forum for specialists to meet and discuss the situations and development trends within the wider logistics industry and supply chain.

BT Tee, General Manager of UBM Vietnam, said this year’s expo will enhance connectivity among partners and businesses operating in the port and logistics fields around the world. Furthermore, the event will also open up business opportunities through the display of advanced technologies available in the sector.

The nation’s Logistics Performance Index (LPI) now ranks 39th among 160 countries and territories, which puts it third in the ASEAN region, behind Singapore and Thailand.

VLA Chairman Le Duy Hiep noted that the market shares of logistics in the country held by foreign companies accounted for 12.7 per cent in 2017, meaning there remains a wealth of opportunities for the country’s logistics industry to develop in the future.
