VOV.VN - The 22nd Vietnam International Agricultural Trade Fair (AgroViet 2022) officially opened in Hanoi on September 15, attracting large number of exhibitors, including 29 foreign firms from Australia, Russia, Japan, China, Thailand, Indonesia, and New Zealand.

On display across nearly 200 pavilions are various “One Commune, One Product” (OCOP) and organic products from Vietnam, including high-quality rice varieties of ST25, ST24, Japonica, Nang Sen, and En Xuan, as well as coffee, tea, spices, canned and frozen vegetarian food, fresh fruit, and vegetables.

Foreign exhibitors were given the chance to introduce a wide range of agricultural products, such as abalone, Manuka honey, olive oil, spices, mushroom drinks, palm oil, and fresh Salak fruit, alongside publications relating to agricultural technologies, farm supplies, and support services.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Nguyen Minh Tien, director of the Agricultural Trade Promotion Center, emphasised that the event running with the theme of “Value chain connection toward green and sustainable agriculture” aims to introduce the agricultural sector’s recent achievements. Indeed, it clearly demonstrate the sector’s orientations for shifting from agricultural production to an agricultural economy with a specific focus on environmentally-friendly products.

The four-day event will contribute to developing hi-tech agricultural production with farm produce meeting food safety and hygiene standards, thereby improving the overall production efficiency and agricultural value chain towards green agriculture and sustainable development, Tien noted.

Luu Thi Dao, director of the Mountain Bee Development Joint Stock Company, expressed her hope that additional trade promotion activities like the trade fair will be organised in future to create optimal conditions for businesses to introduce their products both domestically and globally.
