Hanoi Gift Show 2019 gets underway

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Nguyen Thanh Hai, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Industry Trade, noted that the event offers a venue for businesses, traditional handicraft villages, and artisans to introduce a broad range of the capital’s handicraft industry to both a domestic and international visitors.

The event will also serve to promote the nation’s export activities  towards sustainable development, with Hanoi's handicraft industry being a specific benefactor.

The event provided an opportunity for foreign importers to visit production facilities and shorten transaction times that occur when doing business with domestic enterprises.

The event’s highlight is a pavilion to display handicraft products created by artisans from local businesses with unique and creative designs. These items will help visitors and enterprises to gain a greater insight into the innovation activities taking place in the handicraft field.

Hoang Minh Lam, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Centre for Industrial Promotion and Industry Development Consultancy, said an international seminar on the sustainable development of handicrafts in the context of the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership will also be planned with the participation of domestic and foreign speakers.

In order to create greater efficiency for trade exchanges between buyers and sellers, the Match and Meet event will be organized, aiming to help importers connect with suppliers and conduct direct negotiations and transactions during the event.

The Hanoi Gift Show 2019 is scheduled to last until October 20.
