Hai Phong commences construction on three major industrial parks

VOV.VN - The Hai Phong People’s Committee in coordination with relevant units broke ground on three industrial parks with a combined investment of VND19 trillion on January 15, as part of activities to celebrate the 14th Party National Congress and to attract investment and spur the city’s socio-economic development.

Among them, Tien Lang 1 Industrial Park spans nearly 600 hectares with a total investment exceeding VND13 trillion. The project aligns with Hai Phong’s overall socio-economic development strategy, particularly for the city’s southern region.

Tien Lang Airport Industrial Park – Zone B, covering more than 186 hectares with an investment of over VND2.79 trillion, is planned as a supporting and eco-industrial park, focusing on electronics, mechanical engineering, automobile manufacturing and assembly, and high-tech industries.

Meanwhile, the Vinh Quang Industrial Park covers over 226 hectares with an investment of more than VND3.55 trillion and is oriented toward eco-industrial development, prioritizing clean, high-tech, and low-emission industries.

Once implemented, these projects are expected to help establish a synchronized technical infrastructure system, accelerate the shift toward an industry- and service-based economic structure, create jobs for local workers, and raise incomes.

Notably, Tien Lang 1 Industrial Park is the first developed within the Hai Phong Free Trade Zone, playing a pioneering role and laying a soldi foundation for Hai Phong’s ambition to become a regional and international maritime economic hub.

The project stands out for its new policies, innovative approach, and unprecedented pace. The time for investment procedures has been cut to a record 15 days from proposal submission to construction, compared with up to 48 months for similar projects in the past.

According to Le Ngoc Chau, Chairman of the Hai Phong People’s Committee, the city has decided to establish the Hai Phong Free Trade Zone within the Dinh Vu – Cat Hai Economic Zone and the Southern Hai Phong Coastal Economic Zone.

Investors operating in the Free Trade Zone will benefit from preferential policies, including the most favourable corporate income tax and land rental incentives nationwide, streamlined “one-stop” administrative procedures, priority customs treatment, exemptions from specialized inspections, faster customs clearance to reduce logistics costs.

In addition, the zone permits a controlled pilot mechanism that enables the testing and application of new business models and technologies not yet regulated by law.
