Green initiatives to be spotlighted at Agritechnica Asia Vietnam 2025

The Agritechnica Asia Vietnam 2025 exhibition will showcase cutting-edge agricultural technologies focused on sustainability and productivity amid climate change challenges in Southeast Asia.

Organised by the German Agricultural Society (DLG), the National Agricultural Extension Centre and Vietnam Agriculture Newspaper under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the event will be held for the first time in Vietnam from March 12 to 14, at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Centre in Ho Chi Minh City, organisers said on February 12.

Peter Grothues, a member of the Supervisory Board at DLG, noted the growing demand for agricultural innovation to optimise the production process in response to climate change. He emphasised that agricultural technology is key to both developing sustainable farming models and boosting productivity, thus ensuring reliable and sustainable food supply.

As a major agricultural hub in Southeast Asia, Vietnam faces significant challenges posed by climate change and needs technological innovations for smarter and more efficient farming. Agritechnica Asia 2025 will highlight solutions for cultivating and processing key crops such as rice, sugarcane, maize, coffee, and fruit.

Grothues added that the exhibition aims to introduce the world’s most advanced technologies to Vietnamese farmers, businesses, and cooperatives, helping them improve quality and move toward a smarter and lower-emission agricultural sector.

Nguyen Ngoc Thach, Editor-in-Chief of Vietnam Agriculture Newspaper, stressed the importance of mechanisation in modernising agriculture, particularly as the country pursues sustainable, efficient, and low-emission production. He also noted that empowering farmers with new technologies will increase their confidence in adopting innovations, ultimately boosting productivity, quality, and competitiveness.

The event will serve as a vital platform for experts, industry leaders, and policymakers to exchange knowledge and experience while promoting the role of technology in food security and sustainable agriculture, he added.

Agritechnica Asia Vietnam 2025 will run alongside HortEx Vietnam 2025, Southeast Asia’s leading exhibition for horticulture and floriculture.

At the events, over 200 exhibitors from 35 countries will present precision farming, automation technologies, and solutions for harvesting and processing, including major brands like Gleaner, GSI, Massey Ferguson, and CLAAS.

Agritechnica Asia, first held in Bangkok, will now rotate between Thailand and Vietnam, positioning the two countries and Southeast Asia at large as knowledge hubs in agricultural mechanisation.
