Grab halts Moca e-wallet operations in Vietnam

VOV.VN - Grab, the leading ride-hailing, taxi, food delivery and grocery service provider in Southeast Asia, has announced that it will stop operating the Moca e-wallet service in Vietnam starting from July 1.

Many Grab users in Vietnam received a notice on May 31 stating that the Moca e-wallet service would stop its operations from July 1.

The decision was taken by Grab after careful consideration and assessments made as part of the company’s restructuring strategy.

Grab stated that for Vietnamese users who own a Moca wallet and still have money in their account, they can still continue to use it for services on their platform.

Furthermore, users can also withdraw money to their accounts or linked bank cards before July 1. After the announced deadline, Moca users who still have money left will receive refunds from Moca.

“Moca commits to stopping the provision of e-wallet services and refunds will be made with the highest guarantees for the rights and interests of users,” Grab said in its announcement.

To help customers continue experiencing the convenience of cashless payments, Grab has also encouraged users to consider switching to other payment methods available on the Grab platform such as ZaloPay, MoMo, or bank cards.
