Government requests solutions in place to boost economic growth for 2025
VOV.VN - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has issued a directive outlining key measures to boost economic growth in 2025, with the aim of securing a GDP growth rate of over 8%.
This strategic initiative marks a critical phase as 2025 serves as the final breakthrough year for the 2021-2025 socio-economic development plan while laying the groundwork for a double-digit growth target in the 2026-2030 period.
To meet the target, the PM requested that ministries, agencies and localities give top priority to macro-economic stability and growth promotion, by controlling inflation and ensuring the major balances of the economy. Provinces and cities, especially Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, are tasked with achieving an economic growth rate of 8-10%, particularly major cities like.
He highlighted the need to accelerate public investment and attract foreign investment, by stepping up the disbursement of public investment funds to drive private sector investments, and attracting large-scale, high-tech FDI projects.
The PM particularly reminded the designated agencies to develop new growth drivers, with a primary focus on accelerating digital transformation, establishing a modern digital economy and infrastructure, promoting green economy development with a national green criteria framework and a list of green economic sectors.
He noted that, boosting domestic consumption and exports is also a major solution to support economic growth. Accordingly, it’s important to strengthen domestic demand stimulation; promote the OCOP program and e-commerce; leverage free trade agreements, and diversify export markets, with special attention to Halal markets, the Middle East, Latin America, and Africa.
The government leader also requested completing key transportation projects such as expressways, the North-South high-speed railway, and Long Thanh International Airport, alongside speeding up administrative reform and improving governance efficiency.
The directive emphasizes timely implementation of new laws recently passed by the National Assembly and calls for proactive coordination across the ministries, agencies, and localities to ensure successful implementation of these measures.
