Goertek plans to invest in new Vietnam projects, employ 60,000 workers
VOV.VN - Goertek, an Apple supplier, has planned to pour investments into new projects besides its existing four, and recruit approximately 60,000 employees in Vietnam.
It will also bring foreign experts along with advanced technology to its production lines in Vietnam, revealed the management of Goertek Vina Co.Ltd., during a meeting with Nguyen Anh Tuan, Secretary of the Bac Ninh Provincial Party Committee on February 3.
Tuan made a visit to Goertek factory at Nam Son – Hap Linh Industrial Park in Bac Ninh to extend Lunar New Year 2025 greetings and inquire about the firm’s operations.
Goertek, a manufacturing partner of Apple’s AirPods, officially invested in Bac Ninh in 2013 by establishing Goertek Vina Co., Ltd. at Que Vo Industrial Park.
To date, the firm has invested in four projects at industrial parks in Bac Ninh, with a total registered investment capital of over US$1.3 billion. The projects, with two located at Que Vo and the other two at Nam Son - Hap Linh, focus on manufacturing multimedia communication devices and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), among others.
The firm’s leaders expected that Bac Ninh would facilitate the firm’s expansion plan at Nam Son - Hap Linh Industrial Park for new projects, and grant work permits for foreign experts to support the expansion plan.
They also recommended accelerating the construction of the TL278 road to improve the production and business activities and transportation for workers.
Tuan for his part confirmed that he would closely direct relevant agencies to expedite the implementation of solutions to ensure available land and facilitate work permits for the experts to carry out its projects.
The provincial leader also encouraged Goertek to create opportunities for Vietnamese experts to receive overseas training to improve their capabilities, meeting the development requirements in the coming period.
He suggested that the firm quickly establish a research and development center at the new headquarters and recruit more Vietnamese engineers and experts to work, while expediting the construction of workshops and the disbursement of committed capital.
